New era · New model

We're bringing media back.

News across the country is dying and the model is not coming back. We built a new one — real newsrooms that cover a community, a state capitol or an industry the way it used to be covered. We started in Texas. We're just getting going.

Texas Dispatch Austin Dispatch Houston Dispatch
Their headlines
National. Clickbait. The same story on every site.

Written for the algorithm, not the reader. The local coverage got cut years ago — the Friday night game, the new business on Main Street, the agency that just changed the rules.

Our headlines
The real stories nobody covers anymore.

99% of what happens in a community or state capitol never gets a headline. We build the platforms to cover it all — the game, the ribbon-cutting, the budget vote, the rulemaking — for the people who live with it.

Dispatch Platforms designs, launches, and operates news platforms, podcasts, shows, data, and distribution assets for a specific audience.

Our platforms
About us

Local news is dying. The model is broken. We're innovating to bring news back.

For years the news business has been quietly dropping the coverage people actually wanted: high school sports, local events, local business, the state agencies and the statehouse that set the rules everyone lives under. What's left is national, viral, and the same on every site. Dispatch Platforms exists to bring the rest back — and we've built the platform to do it in any community, any state capitol, any industry.

We are the company behind The Texas Dispatch, The Austin Dispatch, and The Houston Dispatch, and the shows and assets that run alongside them. Each is its own publication, with local editorial control, local personalities, and built for the local community it serves.

The model
01

Cover it all

The game, the ribbon-cutting, the agency board, the committee hearing, the new business on the corner. If it happens where our readers live, it gets covered.

02

99% never gets a headline. We write it.

Most of what happens in a state capitol or a city hall goes unreported. Our newsrooms are built to report it — daily, from the source, in plain language.

03

One platform, any community

Each publication is its own title with its own readers. Behind every one is the same platform — the newsroom systems, the studio, the distribution — so a new market launches in months, not years.

Our platforms

The Dispatch family, today.

Three publications, and the shows, newsletters and research they produce.

Statewide · Policy

The Texas Dispatch

Daily coverage of Texas state government — agencies, boards, committees and the Capitol — built on the documents those bodies actually publish. For the people who make and move state policy.

The Austin Dispatch

A publication built for Austin — city hall, the county, the school districts and the people who live with their decisions. Its own masthead, its own newsroom, the same standard.

The Houston Dispatch

A publication built for Houston and Harris County — local government, the port, the industries that run the region, and the readers who need to understand them.

Where we're going

We started in Texas. We won't stop there.

  1. 01 · Done

    Texas

The Texas Dispatch: complete coverage of state government, plus five shows and a newsletter from our Austin studio.

  2. 02 · Now

    Texas metros

The Austin Dispatch launching now. The Houston Dispatch in 2027. Dallas and San Antonio to follow.

  3. 03 · Next

    Across the country

A statehouse and a city at a time. The platform travels; the coverage doesn't change.

What we build

Three kinds of platforms.

Local

Fill the gap.

The local paper stopped covering the school board, the Friday night game and the business that just opened downtown. We build a publication for that city — its own name, its own reporters, its own readers — and cover all of it again.

The Austin Dispatch · The Houston Dispatch
Policy

Complete government coverage.

Not just the session and the headline bills. Every agency, board and commission, the interim hearings, the rulemakings, the contracts — the 99% of state government that never makes the news, covered daily.

The Texas Dispatch
White label

Reach your industry or your customers.

A publication, show or newsletter built for the audience you need — under your name or ours — and run by the same newsroom, studio and systems that run the Dispatch titles.

Built to order
The studios

Every Dispatch title gets a studio.

The Texas Dispatch produces five shows from its Austin studio — Texas Talks, Titans of Texas, Future of Texas, Hemp in Texas and AI & Policy — with the officeholders, agency heads, founders and advocates shaping the state. Studios for The Austin Dispatch and The Houston Dispatch are next, built on the same model.

The Texas Dispatch studio
The team

Built by people who've run newsrooms, not just read about them.
